The System Sensor OSY2A Outside Screw & Yoke (OS&Y) Valve Supervisory Switch is designed to monitor the fully open position of Outside Screw & Yoke (OS&Y) gate valves installed on automatic fire sprinkler systems. As the ULC Listed Canadian model, the OSY2A provides reliable supervisory monitoring to ensure sprinkler control valves remain in their required open position while immediately reporting unauthorized or accidental valve closure to the fire alarm control panel.
Constructed with a rugged NEMA 3R-rated die-cast metal enclosure, the OSY2A is suitable for both indoor and outdoor installations. Its adjustable-length actuator eliminates the need to cut the actuator shaft during installation, while the user-friendly mounting bracket accommodates most 1″ through 12″ OS&Y gate valves. The right-angle mounting design provides excellent clearance around valve components and can also be adapted for many side-bracket style pressure reducing valves.
The OSY2A features dual synchronized SPDT (Form C) contacts, allowing simultaneous activation of a fire alarm control panel and local notification appliance. A single-side conduit entrance simplifies wiring by eliminating the need for right-angle conduit fittings, while the cover tamper switch comes standard on the ULC model to provide additional security and code compliance. Designed in accordance with NFPA 13, NFPA 13D, NFPA 13R, and NFPA 72, the OSY2A is an ideal supervisory switch for commercial, industrial, institutional, and residential fire sprinkler systems throughout Canada.
